CNGA CHAMPIONSHIPS 7/8th APR 2018

This is to clarify that the championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday 7 &8th April 2018 at CNGA. A detailed programme will be published soon. However, the following times and days will be followed for the groups within the academy

Saturday morning 7th April

All beginner and improver boys 0930 start
All year 3 and year 4 girls 0930 start

Saturday afternoon

Beginner girls (Monday Wednesday and Friday groups
All year 5 & 6 girls

Three girls will represent the academy at the compulsory levels and national grades this weekend in Cardiff. 9 year old Jemima Taylor will compete in the compulsory level 4 event, Charlotte Lapsins will compete in the national grade 2 and Katie Lewis will compete in the national grade 1 competition. All three girls have trained exceptionally hard for this competition and we wish them all the very best this Sunday.

At last the snow is disappearing and the gym will resume lessons on Monday at 4pm. We look forward to seeing all members in the gym.

pictured below Lilian Sapsford, Eva Lewis and Maia Kajer. All three girls passed their grade earlier in February. Lilian and Eva passed with Commended and Maia passed with Distinction in her grade. All 3 girls are now working hard towards the Academy championships in April and for the trials to represent the Academy later this year. Also pictured below is Jemima Taylor, an exceptional gymnast who competed at the Wiltshire Quatro competition in February gaining overall 3rd place and gold and silver on individual apparatus. Jemima trains at the Academy and also with the National Coaching team in Cardiff. Jemima is working towards the Compulsory level 4 competition at the end of March. Well done girls for your amazing results !

GYM LESSONS – WEATHER UPDATE

SORRY EVERYONE, THE GYM WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY DUE TO POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS. ALSO, DUE TO THE WEATHER WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ORDER GAS FOR THE HEATER, SO THE GYM WILL NOT BE AT AN APPROPRITE WORKING TEMPERATURE FOR THE GYMNASTS.

SORRY AGAIN EVERYONE BUT THE WEATHER IS OUT OF OUR HANDS. WE WILL SPEAK TO THE GROUPS THAT HAVE MISSED LESSONS THIS WEEK AND RE-SCHEDULE SOME HOURS TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOST SESSIONS. SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEK.

The Academy will hold their annual championships on the weekend of the 7th and 8th April 2018. All members are entitled to enter the event. The beginner and improver groups competition will take place on Saturday 7th April. The preparation and competition squads will compete on Sunday 8th April. More details about timings for each of the groups will be published as soon as possible.
