All our members should have received a template fund raising form.  Small groups of our members have made fantastic progress with their fund raising effort to help save our Academy.  A group of gymnasts with their parents climbed up Pen Y Fan today as a sponsored event to help raise much needed funds.  Another group of gymnasts will be climbing Pen Y Fan next Saturday.  Thank you to everyone who is helping to raise funds and who have already for our Academy.  Another member is walking 100,000 steps in one week and another is walking half a marathon this week. Thank you all so much!  We will post their photos on our web page soon.

We urge all our members to ‘get on board’ and try to raise whatever funds they can by using the fund raising template to support the Academy through this very challenging time.

The gym is due to re-open on Monday 17th May with restrictions in place.  We will be more clear about training sessions for all the members next week.

The Welsh Government have issued a written statement, and there was coverage in yesterday evening’s press that due to the improving coronavirus situation in Wales, dates for the return of sport have been brought forward.
As we understand:

  • Outdoor Group activity for up to 30 adults can restart from the 26 April, where it had previously been the 3 May.
  • Indoor sporting facilities, including gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools will be able to reopen on the 3 May for individual activity or one-to-one training , previously the 10th May.
  • Gatherings of up to 15 indoors for exercise classes etc will return on the 17th May, as previously planned.

We will seek clarity on the guidelines for May 3rd and the possibilities within the gymnastics environment. As soon as we have more detail we will let you know.

Further information is available in a written statement on the Welsh Government website :

A message to all our members.  As you are now probably aware, we are unlikely to return to indoor exercise classes until Monday 17th May 2021.  This means that our lockdown will have been exactly five months.  We know that Welsh Gymnastics are petitioning to the Welsh Government to try and resume gymnastic classes earlier.  We will have to wait for the outcome.

Until we allowed to return, we will continue to offer on line zoom sessions (which have been running every weekday during the lockdown) and since the relaxation of the lockdown restrictions we are offering outdoor sessions.  You should have received the information by email about all zoom and outdoor sessions.

We will be writing to all our members very soon about returning to gymnastics in May.

We wish all our members a very peaceful Easter weekend with your families. We hope to see you all on zoom and at the outdoor session next week.
