Congratulations to Charlotte Lapsins, Megan Thomas and Mya Burrows who all competed at the Bronze Classic Challenge Cup on Saturday 25th September 2021 in Cardiff.  Gymnasts from all over Wales met at Sophia Gardens on Saturday to compete in the new Classic Challenge Cup competition.  All three girls performed excellent routines on the uneven bars, beam, floor and vault.  Charlotte and Megan competed in the 14 plus age category and their positions were as follows:

Charlotte: Uneven Bars 4th place with a brilliant routine of close bar elements, giant circles and a straight somersault dismount and also placing 5th overall in the competition.

Megan: Uneven Bars 5th, Vault 5th overall with a superb Tsukahara tucked vault, and 4th overall in the competition

In the 12/13 age group Mya was up against a very tough competition and did amazing on all four Olympic apparatus.  Mya’s apparatus placement was as follows:

Mya: Vault 6th place with an amazing Yurchenko preparation vault with 180 twist.

All CNGA gymnasts performed their floor and beam routines beautifully with combinations of dance, artistry and excellent acrobatic skills.  The competition was to a very high standard and the girls remained focussed and positive, a real credit to themselves and the Academy.  We were so proud of their performances throughout the event – Well Done girls!!

This was the first Welsh Women’s Artistic Competition in 18 months due to COVID restrictions – and it was amazing to see such commitment and excellent gymnastics from the CNGA girls.
