PUMPKIN CRAZY ON FRIDAY

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY GYMNASTS!

All gymnasts who attend the Tuesday class (5pm – 7pm) please note

GYM TUESDAY 7TH NOVEMBER – Cancelled (a make up lesson was provided early in October). Gymnasts who have recently joined the Tuesday group (after the make up lesson was provided) will be allowed to attend 1 x extra lesson on a Thursday during November (same time 5pm to 7pm).

GYM TUESDAY 14TH NOVEMBER – Gym lesson on as normal

All classes are reminded to bring their pumpkin in, leading up to Halloween. There are prizes for the best pumpkins!! Come and join the fun this week !!

Next week we would like all our gymnasts to bring a pumpkin to the gym for a ‘pumpkin competition’. Children are asked to wear a Halloween costume – OPTIONAL (even though the email said no costume), but…no make up sorry. We can’t afford for our new floor to be stained or smudged with fancy dress make up. There will be prizes for the best pumpkin for each of the groups. The groups and days to bring your pumpkin are shown below

The boys group who work on a Tuesday evening each week, were busy working on the apparatus this evening at the Academy. There are currently 25 boys who train at the gym, 15 of which attend a Tuesday and the remainder attend a Friday afternoon.

Eve Peart and Moridiat Olagunju pictured below, both from City of Newport Gymnastic Academy, represented the South East Wales 12+ Zinc Team at the Classic Challenge finals in North Wales this weekend. Both girls performed brilliant routines on all apparatus. The results below speak for themselves:

VAULT: Eve Peart Joint 4th, Moridiat 1st Place Gold !

BARS: No placement for Eve or Moridiat in the top 6 but clean, amazing routines. A very close bars contest.

BEAM: Eve Peart Silver medal, Moridiat 1st Place Gold !

FLOOR: Eve Peart Joint 4th, Moridiat 1st Place Gold !

Overall position:

EVE PEART 3rd Place Bronze Overall

MORIDIAT OLAGUNJU : 1st Place Gold Overall – The new Classic Challenge 12+ Zinc Welsh Champion !!

SOUTH EAST TEAM – GOLD !!!

It was a very proud moment for the South East team and a fantastic competition enjoyed by all. Yet again, the dedication from both girls in training, their focus and determination paid off at the finals this weekend. The support and combined effort from all the coaches at CNGA helped towards the success of the girls on the weekend. Well done to all our coaches and well done gymnasts!
