Having previously travelled to Falcons Gymnastics in Devon, Newport has been the official host since 2022, continuing a tradition of excellence and community spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s competition welcomed talented gymnasts from across the <strong>South West Region of England<\/strong>, stretching from <strong>Bristol to Penzance<\/strong>. Despite the summer heat, with air conditioning and ceiling fans working overtime, all <strong>six rounds ran seamlessly<\/strong>, showcasing remarkable performances and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of <strong>18 gymnasts<\/strong> represented Newport with pride. Photos of their achievements and positions are shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Primrose Richards<\/strong>, the youngest competitor, opened the event with a superb all\u2011around performance on all four apparatus. Sadly, Rebeca Mucenic who was also due to compete in the same round with Primrose was injured in training two weeks prior to the competition and had to withdraw<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Round Two<\/strong> featured dazzling routines from <strong>Isla Bastow, Harriet Stanbridge, Alice Ayles, Arden Williams, Lettie Daw\u2011Evans, Georgina Salijeni, and Millie Rolfe<\/strong>, each delivering artistry and precision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Saturday\u2019s final round<\/strong> saw <strong>Melanie Dirwai, Everly Hardaker, Skye Hooper, Brooke Arnold, Evie Thorpe, Isla Phillips, and Lydia Porter<\/strong> impress the judges with exceptional skill and composure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On <strong>Sunday<\/strong>, <strong>Avalyn Halford<\/strong> and <strong>Keeley Williams<\/strong> competed in the <em>Copper<\/em> category, both earning outstanding results that spoke for themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong>Melanie, Everly, Alice, and Harriet<\/strong>, this was their first GYMSTARS appearance \u2014 and they rose to the occasion beautifully. Every gymnast demonstrated dedication, grace, and teamwork, making the Academy immensely proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across all apparatus, <strong>floor and beam routines stood out for their artistry and effort<\/strong>, earning well\u2011deserved recognition from the judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2728 <strong>Congratulations to all our gymnasts<\/strong> for making this milestone event such a success.
