Tina Marenghi
Tina brings an excellent standard of gymnastics coaching to the Academy – being a former Commonwealth Games gymnast herself and senior ladies Welsh Champion she has exceptional coaching qualities and is aware of the requirements of the competitive girls to achieve the highest standards in our sport. Tina is a level 3 Women’s Artistic Coach and has represented Wales at the highest level of the sport at numerous Internationals and has also been a member of the British Squad.
Marcel Marenghi
Marcel also brings an excellent standard of coaching experience to the club. Marcel started his gymnastic journey in September 1970 at the age of 8 with Newport Youth Gymnastic Club. He represented Wales at junior level and started coaching in 1980. Marcel has coached and run 6 gymnastic clubs successfully in the UK and overseas. Marcel is a level 3 Men’s Artistic coach, level 4 Women’s Artistic coach and has attended the level 5 High Performance Coaching course. He is British Gymnastics Tutor/Assessor and currently supports Welsh Gymnastics in assessing level 1 and level 2 coach candidates. Marcel brings a wealth of experience, dynamism and expertise to the Club.

The volunteers and sports leaders assist in the gym working area and help coaches organise children into appropriate groups, coach basic level gymnastics under the guidance of a qualified coach. Volunteers and sports leaders are given the opportunity to become qualified coaches. The Academy works closely with the Regional Development Officer at Welsh gymnastics to ensure an effective coaching structure exists at the Academy. Anyone interested in gymnastic coaching should make an enquiry to the staff.

The aim of the Academy is to increase the varied programme of gymnastics, increase the membership and provide a welcoming gym centre for all to participate and enjoy the sport of gymnastics.
