Keeley Williams represented the Academy in this competition. Her training colleague – Moridiat Olagunju is currently out with a knee injury and we hope to see her back at training soon.
Keeley did an amazing job and started with a brilliant gold winning floor routine to music. Keeley scored a huge 12.1 and the judges remarked on a fantastic performance. Her next apparatus was the uneven bars. Again Keeley performed the best routine she had ever done and placed gold on this apparatus with a fantastic upstart into handstand start to the routine.
Keeley then moved to the vault which she did well scoring a 10.75 for her half on full twist off. The vault landed safely the score reflected her attempt. Keeley finished her competition on the beam, which did not quite go to plan on the day. However, Keeley finished with two gold medals and an overall sixth place. she did not quite make finals this year by 0.2. We were so proud of Keeley for her amazing effort at the Copper competition.

Well done to volunteer Mike and his daughter – senior gymnast Evie Thorpe who both did a 5km walk and raised £85 as part of our big fund raising campaign – wow! this is amazing!! We are so grateful for Mike’s fantastic support at CNGA. He has done a tremendous amount of ‘behind the scenes’ work at the club not to mention the volunteer support with the children at the beginner and improver classes. All gymnasts, parents/carers are reminded that jewellery is not to be worn for gymnastic classes. This includes all forms of jewellery (bracelets, necklaces, earrings, piercings – anything).
All items of jewellery should be removed before participation. As a temporary measure, newly pierced ears can have stud earrings – but these need to be covered with tape from home prior to arriving at the gymnastic lesson. Stud earrings must also be removed for lessons, as soon as the newly pierced ears have healed.
Thank you for your continued co-operation with regards to Health and Safety in the Gymnastic lesson.
