Following the latest announcement regarding the extreme weather conditions, we have made the decision to cancel all classes at CNGA this evening in the best interests of everyone’s health and safety.
Both Directors have been on site today and, after assessing the intense temperatures inside the gym, agreed that it would not be safe or appropriate to run sessions.
Please continue to check our website for updates on when classes will resume. We will share further information as soon as it is available.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this period of exceptional weather.

Important Weather Update – Temporary Closure for Safety
The Government has issued a rare red weather warning affecting South Wales. In response, CNGA will close the facility on Wednesday and Thursday to protect the health and safety of all gymnasts, coaches, and families.
All classes scheduled for these two days are cancelled, and the building will remain closed to all users except for essential maintenance taking place on Wednesday morning.
Although our facility is equipped with ceiling fans that circulate cool air across the gymnastics area, this system cannot be relied upon during the extreme heat forecast. While Monday’s sessions ran safely under close supervision, both the Directors and Academy Welfare Team have agreed that conditions on Wednesday and Thursday would make it unsafe to operate.
As mentioned in our earlier communication, CNGA continues to monitor conditions daily throughout this period of exceptional weather. Every decision is made with the wellbeing, safety, and comfort of our gymnasts and staff as the highest priority.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Together, we’ll keep our athletes safe, strong, and thriving.

So what a day! Swansea Half you didn’t disappoint! ❤️ A great few miles around the City Centre and then what seemed like an eternity to get down to Mumbles! , but what views to take in and enjoy! A great atmosphere from start to finish, great entertainment all the way round and fab running conditions to help to another PB! I managed to get over the line with 1hour 39mins! With doing that, knocking 3mins off my last PB! So so pleased with that! Throughout the year, I’ve challenged myself by completing three half marathons: Newport, Bristol, and now Swansea, all while raising funds for my daughters amazing gymnastics club , City of Newport Gymnastics Academy (CNGA). When I started, I set myself a fundraising target of £600. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of friends, family, and the local community, i am currently sat at an amazing £640! Which I’m totally blown away with! The money raised will go towards new gym equipment that will improve an already amazing gymnastics academy in CNGA. With my final challenge now complete, I’m so grateful for every donation, message of encouragement, and show of support along the way. Every contribution has helped make a real difference, and I couldn’t have got this far without you. Thank you all for your support — it means more than you know. ❤️ Donate here: https://gofund.me/07d027292 #SwanseaHalfMarathon #Fundraising #CNGA #HalfMarathon #RunningForACause #CommunitySupportView update

As many of our members know, the business next door to ours had a leak 10 days ago and as a result leaked into our premises and ruined our carpets. We are in the process of having new carpets fitted this Tuesday and Wednesday. This means unfortunately that viewing is not possible until the week commencing 16th June. Gymnastic lessons will carry on as normal this week but the viewing area will be out of action. We apologize for any inconvenience and as soon as the carpets are fitted and office equipment has been returned, we will resume our normal service at CNGA for parents to view their child’s lesson. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Congratulations Rich Halford on completing your third half marathon for CNGA! and a personal best to boot! Well done..
Rich finished his fund raising run in Swansea this morning and was supported by his family. We are delighted that he has raised £600 so far for the academy to purchase new foam blocks for the pit zone. It’s not too late to make a small contribution either on the GOFUNDME page or at the gym (donation bucket) or you can make a transfer today for as little as £1 or £2 with reference FUNDRAISER using the same bank details that you pay your monthly fees to. Any donation would be amazing!

THANK YOU RICH !

Message from the Directors of CNGA Ltd
At CNGA, we’re fortunate to have supportive people like Richard Halford, whose generosity and commitment help keep our Academy thriving year after year.
Gymnastics equipment is costly to maintain and replace, and as a not‑for‑profit organization, we rely on fundraising and hosting events to remain financially sustainable. It’s through the kindness and dedication of individuals and families like Richard’s that we’re able to continue providing opportunities for every gymnast to learn, grow, and achieve.
Thank you Richard for everything you do for CNGA.

RICH HALFORD AIMING FOR ANOTHER PERSONAL BEST AT THE SWANSEA HALF MARATHON ON SUNDAY
Richard Halford will run his third half marathon in Swansea on Sunday 8th June 2026 to raise funds for our amazing gymnastic academy. Richard has already completed the Newport and Bristol half marathons and achieved a personal best at each one – Well done Rich!
Let’s all support Rich now as he does his third run for the club…you can make a small donation on the GO FUND ME PAGE link below or drop a donation into the bucket located on our Reception desk next week when you bring your child to gym.
Due to circumstances beyond our control – there will be no access to viewing the beginners or improver classes from today 3rd June until further notice. It is hoped that everything will be back to normal from Wednesday next week (10th June).
Last weekend, the business located next door to CNGA had a major water leak which spilled over into our gym and ruined the carpets in all the offices and behind the vaulting area.
We will be having new carpets laid next Tuesday/Wednesday morning but as you can imagine, all the offices and storage items will need to be safely stored in our viewing area. We have to start emptying the offices today in order for the carpets to be uplifted and allow the sub-concrete to dry out before the new carpets are fitted.
This does affect viewing from today and we hope all will be resumed as normal next Wednesday. We apologise for this inconvenience, but these works are essential to maintain a safe gymnastic environment moving forwards.
Thank you to all our parents/carers for your patience and understanding this week.
